I was recently interviewed by Katie Hughes of Free Art and Design School about making cartoons and music and sometimes blending the two interests.
In the span of the interview, we discuss the hypothetical scenario of holding up a painting on a stadium stage to an enthusiastic crowd, the idea of all art constantly aspiring toward the condition of music, frame-by-frame hand drawn animation techniques, expelling garbage while attending art school and old anime.
At some point I say, “Animation is essentially a really boring comic that’s played really fast so it looks cool.” Check out the full interview to hear that along with other baffling takes of mine! Also be sure to check out the rest of the interviews on the Free Art and Design School channel. I’m all for free education.
